Van Oord the international leading contractor specialized in dredging, shipbuilding and offshore projects starts on December 18th, the maintenance dredging works in the different navigation areas of the Port of Dos Bocas, as part of its infrastructure strengthening program.
The 379.72 ft length, 72.16 ft width dredger HAM 316 the dredger, will be responsible for carrying out dredging works along the Supply Terminal access channel, while in the Multipurpose Terminal these works will be carried out both in the access channel and the turning basin.
The ship with a 9,535 cubic meters storage capacity, expect to complete this work by the end of December 2011, with a total dredging of 200,000 cubic meters to improve the port capacity for the reception of all types of cargo vessels and supporting productive projects in the region.
The Ministry of Communications and Transport through the General Coordination of Ports and Merchant Marine, remains committed to strengthening national port infrastructure as an essential element in the logistics chains of cargo shipping worldwide.
